A rotary tiller, also known as a rototiller or rotavator, is a mechanical agricultural device used to prepare the soil for planting. It is an essential piece of equipment for modern farming and gardening, especially for small to medium-sized fields or home gardens. A rotary tiller is powered by an engine or tractor and features a set of rotating blades (called tines) mounted on a horizontal shaft. As the tines spin, they dig into the soil, breaking it up and turning it over.
