Plough
A plough is a traditional and essential farm implement used for primary tillage—the first step in preparing soil for sowing seeds. It is designed to cut, lift, turn, and break the soil, which improves soil aeration and helps in weed control and incorporation of crop residues.
Types
Iron (Desi) Plough
An improved version of the wooden plough made of iron or steel, still drawn by animals but more durable and efficient.
Mouldboard Plough
This is a mechanical plough used for turning the soil completely. It consists of a ploughshare, mouldboard, landslide, and beam. It can be animal- or tractor-drawn.
